DORNES
Dornes, rural district, are located in the Sologne Bourbonnaise.

With the end of VIème century, the Brunehaut queen gives the ground of Viry to the abbey Saint Andoche of Autun. Destroyed by Buckwheats at the end of VIIIème century, the abbey is raised into 858. The charter of foundation quotes the village (Dernaus). The first mention of the parish goes back to 886 (Dorna). Before Xème century, Dorne forms part of the vicaria viriaco, administrative unit dependent on évêché on Autun before its meeting with that of Nevers. It is only in XIIIème century that is born the seigniory from Dorne, vassal stronghold of the baronnie of Ferté-Chauderon depend on the Bourbons. So the seigniory of Dorne will generally belong to noble families bourbonnaises for which it is only one source of income. During centuries, Dorne is in the mobility of Bourbonnais or the Resident of Nevers, and also of the two duchies.
